Muskegon Rescue Mission (MRM) is one of the oldest agencies in West Michigan
serving individuals and families since 1907. The men’s shelter is located at 400 W. Laketon. The women’s and children’s shelter is located at 1691 Peck.
From the time the Mission was established, it has provided food, shelter, clothing and spiritual direction to hurting souls. By relieving the immediate needs of our hurting neighbors Muskegon Rescue Mission is able to address the root cause of their distress. This allows us to share the savings knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, thus bringing them to dependence upon God and independent within society.
MRM serves men, women and children from all walks of life. Individuals and families come to us seeking help. We also receive referrals from: Department of Human Services, churches, community agencies, police, area businesses and individuals. Clients primarily come from Muskegon County, however there are no geographic restrictions.
Our heartfelt thanks to our donors and volunteers for their faithful support. Your help in caring for the less fortunate and the homeless is essential to our ministry.
About 65% of our income comes from individuals...10% from businesses...10% from churches and the remainder from fund-raising events, grants, and bequests. All gifts are tax-deductible and subject to an annual audit by a certified public accountant.
The Mission is an autonomous Michigan non-profit corporation. The twelve-member Board of Directors are volunteers who are selected to represent a variety of denominational and vocational perspectives. The MRM has a policy of non-discrimination. Clients are accepted without discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, age, national origin, or handicaps to the extent facilities allow.
