Found Support!

When Luviechie came to MRM all she was looking for was a little support...and you gave her so much more. As a mother of two, Luviechie was devastated when she lost her job. While nervous about staying in a shelter she was quickly running out of options. With her daughter and son by her side she came to MRM and quickly made the mission “our home.” With the resources you help provide and hard work Luviechie now has a place of her own, but they still consider the mission their second home. “They really care about you even when you leave” she says. While they no longer stay at the mission, they continue to visit the mission. “My kids still go to the Bible study on Wednesday and we came here for the Christmas dinner” Luviechie shares. Because Luviechie had second thoughts about staying in a shelter she has a few words for others in need. “Don’t judge a book by its cover just because it’s a shelter,” she states. “It’s much more than that…there’s so much more within the walls.”

Putting God First!

Change is hard…when John came to MRM he had to make a number of changes in his life. He was finding his way back into society after a seventeen-month incarceration, with no place to call home and without a job. John turned to the mission to find himself and his faith. When John arrived he had to come to terms with where he was in life, by taking responsibility for his action. John began laying a firm foundation for his future, by learning how to put his trust in God and applying the principles of God’s word. “I have changed by thoughts and my ways,” John says, “and I realized that what I put before me is up to me.” As John began rebuilding a faith he once held dear, it didn’t take long for God’s word to come alive again. Now a changed man, John has “so much joy” and a joyous outlook on life. “The program has so much to offer to each person,” John remarks. “We all came here in different ways, but we are all searching for the one and only, Jesus Christ.”
